![]() i can appreciate wanting to help with workarounds but it's just not good enough, this is microsofts flagship franchise afterall. But search "downpatch master chief collection steam" on youtube and you'll find video tutorials on it. I'm pretty sure it's all perfectly legal and safe to do, but I'm not sure how it's looked upon here so I'll refrain from posting any links. ![]() Using all the exact same settings and everything as I was in the current patch, using this old patch everything was smooth and stable 100%. So there is that option if you're willing to deal with it and put in the work, although it's pretty embarrassing to have to do that kind of workaround for something that was once as mighty as Halo and is supposed to be backed up by, you know, Microsoft. I don't think it lets you play MP that way, and I'm not sure if achievements work or not (Steam was able to recognize that I had MCC open, though, so maybe they do - EDIT: confirmed that achievements do NOT work). Is there really even much hope of them fixing this at this point? I don't really keep up with Halo news too much, but I thought I read something about 343 getting completely canned or taken off of Halo or something like that? That kinda makes me wonder if there's even anyone around to fix the game anymore. Neither did using original graphics settings instead of enhanced. I saw another post somewhere saying to run the game without Easy Anticheat and that should fix it - that didn't work for me. I was starting to have an existential crisis cause I thought it was my build and I had done something wrong, but clearly not. I played Halo: CE in MCC on integrated graphics perfectly fine years ago, and now that I built my own computer with an actual graphics card it runs absolutely horribly, with the memory usage running out of control in minutes, even when idling.
